Honestly, I can’t really give a straight answer, I think technology is something us humans should learn to accept rather than fight against. With all of the new AI tools such as DeepSeek, ChatGPT and such coming more to light day by day. It’s inevitable that society is rapidly changing and whether it’s more the better or worse is truly debatable. As a whole now, society has access to so much information, there is truly nothing one can’t find an access or plethora of information on. While this sounds like evolution with no drawbacks, it is also painfully apparent, that critical thinking skills are on the decline. As humans, just grab answers and let’s such technology give them the answers for them. As someone who uses Reddit daily on a day-by-day basis. I am abhorred but the number of posts I see from the r/Teachers subreddit on teachers complaining on how kids use AI just to form single sentences to the point of deficiency. The eventual corrosion of the brain in terms of this only happens when one relies on AI for far too long without seeking any deeper explanation as to why, and this is becoming more and more of a trend as time goes on. To the point, where schools literally have to find ways to combat usage of AI, is not only destroying critical thinking skills but also attention spans. No to say AI is at fault, rather us humans are for not being able to use it properly and effectively. To say we are better off without technology would truly be out of touch with reality, since we are pivoting into a world where it is simply more prevalent than ever. And all we really need to do it just learn how to use AI more effectively, maybe limiting AI usage to the public of younger audiences and only giving that access to those who use it to enhance learning styles and not just letting the AI do the thinking and creating codependency. Overall, I could say I’m better off without technology such as phones, computers and basic things. As well as reading more and doing less technological activities and such but at the end of the day it’s just not a feasible reality as we all will use technology constantly and daily in our lives.
