Nothing is more memorable to me than the event of the Holocaust. To start, I was in seventh grade when I first learned about it and to this day about 8 years later. I still remember the lesson fully, every slide painting a picture of horror and depravity. Back then, my mind was unable to comprehend such atrocities. I was just terrified deep down because the behaviors seemed so primal and just dull of basic respect for life. What’s even crazier is that in all the turmoil upon the Holocaust, all was justified and seen as a worthy cause. These people genuinely thought they were making the world a better place by exterminating a specific race. It goes to show how dangerous humanity can be when left unchecked by corrupt ideals and forces. I could go along the lines and say things like American Revolution, Civil War, or something even recent like the 2020 Capitol Storming or recent Charlie Kirk assassination. While all tragic and very unfortunate travesties. Nothing really struck me as heavily as reading the Holocaust did. That has been ingrained in my brain for life essentially.
