Leading is something that should be simple in theory, but in reality, it is a lot more than people bargain for. As a leader, one must be incredibly good at seeing the big picture and scope of things. This is simply because, as a leader, everything is one’s job and responsibility. People tend to have this skewed perception that being a leader means I can tell people what to do or I call all the shots. While this is true, it means that any obstacle or fallback ultimately falls on the leader in the end. With great power comes great responsibility, and not everyone is cut out for such a role. As someone who tends to be passive and a little withdrawn at times, being a leader would equate to exponential effort. It would not be an ideal cup of tea, and that’s okay. Everyone excels and thrives at different things. Some people are natural-born leaders, and it’s just how it is. Upon that, while everyone can lead and micromanage, not everyone can do it effectively.
